"EVERY DAY WAS A STRUGGLE…"

Kim’s marriage ended. And that’s when her life unraveled.

Suddenly, Kim needed to find a new place to live. And she also needed to find a way to earn the money she needed to support herself and her two young children.

Despite her marriage ending, Kim also realized that big life moments are also opportunities to make for big life changes. And for the longest time, Kim’s big dream was to work from home so she could be with her 6 and 8-year-old children as much as possible.

The only problem was that she had no clue how to make that happen.

And as she was going through her divorce, Kim had nobody around to help and support her on her new life journey.

“I was almost 50 and had to start my life over. We had to find a place to live. I had no friends or family nearby…

…Every day through that time was a struggle. But you have to put a smile on your face for the kids. Inside, you’re torn up, but you don’t have the chance to stop or cry. You have to keep striving for your goals.”

"MY CONFIDENCE WAS SO LOW…"

After “running the numbers” for her new life, Kim realized that she had to earn at least $1,000 a week. That’s the number that would allow her to cover family’s bills AND buy a new home within five years, a goal that she’d set for herself.

At this point, Kim already had some experience as a bookkeeper and figured she could provide that as a service to people. Still, Kim had a lot of doubts about her abilities because she had no formal bookkeeping training and wasn’t confident in her skills.

As she explained, Kim would often deliver reports to her clients, but she had no idea what the numbers really meant!

One day, Kim saw a Facebook post about Bookkeeper Business Launch and she decided to watch the free videos. She then joined in early 2017, hoping the program would help her understand bookkeeping better.

In an effort to grow her business, Kim started to reach out to people she already knew. This included former colleagues she’d not talked to in 4-5 years, and members of her woman’s group. And the responses she got were great!

Brimming with confidence, Kim started to share her business details with any business owner she came across in everyday life. She even brought up the topic of bookkeeping with a repairman that came over to her house to do some maintenance work. He even asked how he could hire her!
